In news sure to please many gamers, former members of Clover have formed their own studio: Seeds. Such a move has been rumored since Clover's announced liquidation late in 2006. Among its current members are Viewtiful Joe producer Atsushi Inaba, Devil May Cry/Viewtiful Joe creator Hideki Kamiya and estranged Capcom producer and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.

The company has a total of 51 employees, and is still recruiting. More information can be had (for Japanese speakers) on Seeds' official webpage. To find out more about Clover's acclaimed Okami, please read GameDaily BIZ's Chart Toppers.

What I find most interesting is that in the background of their logo you can see what looks like playstation dpads. Will they continue to make Playstation Exclusives... it is unknown right now, but thats my hunch.

Cool... would love to see a next gen Okami... didn't care much for Viewtiful Joe myself... but that doesn't matter ;\.

Viewtiful Joe was cool then it got corny really quick. I didn't even buy the sequel. I'm dying for a next gen Okami though. Wonder if they'll change the art style since they originally wanted to go for a realistic design but didn't because PS2's power wasn't enough.

I dout they will make an Okami 2, probably going to make another crazy game. Thats what I loved about Clover, they made artistically great and unique games.

Could they even do it if they wanted to? Does Capcom have any say in that or what?

Well they could always buy the license from Capcom... but I dout Capcom would let it go.
