Hmm.. Strange. It seems to have fixed itself. The higher memory usage I noticed earlier may be from the move from Vista 32bit to Vista 64bit. I didn't really mess with anything, but I did restart the system and reinstalled the drivers again.
Now it's working fine. Videos and games do not exhibit the error anymore. Or maybe like other's have noted, the time between errors are longer. Here's hoping it doesn't come back. :(

This issue with dream scene doesn't just affect 680i boards. Seems a lot of people are having issues with dream scene (me included). I personally don't give a rats ass about dream scene, so I really don't care if it ever gets fixed. My biggest issue is no utility to adjust clocks or fan speed. Yes I know; some have one or the other available now, but most don't. Yesterday it was rather warm (80 degrees), and my 8800 was 70c just sitting in 2D, so I guess I'm done with Vista until Nvidia releases their separate clock/fan utility. I'm back to running XP (two hard drives :) ) until the Vista drivers get fixed. Right now in XP my GPU is 55c with the fan set to 70%.

Well, Nvidia need to have a serious look into this :)
I have to say that I noticed this crash far more often with the 101.41 drivers over the 100.65's.
So...I went back to the 100.65's.
I now have this issue after using vsita for months. It started yesterday, only when I enabled two monitors. Up until now, I have never had an issue.
I also never had an issue with the 100.65, only the 101.41's.
This is on a dual opteron board, not a 680i board.
I also have no issues in XP.
As to it being a memory issue, I doubt it, since my board uses ECC memory and I would get a machine check error if there was anything wrong in this area. This I am sure of, since if I overclock my memory these errors start to come up.
It is most likely a driver issue.
I don't undrestand why Nvidia is so helpless when facing issues like this. It's like they are all looking around at each other saying . "duh . I dono wat to do, how bout you . duh"

I've only suffered this issue when playing Guild Wars in windwed mode, so it was easy for me to avoid it... just a maximize button click and voila, stable full screen XD

Happens almost all the time, randomly whilst playing Titan Quest / Titan Quest - Immortal Throne.
Pity, as it's the missus's fav. game :headexplode:

I haven't seen this yet on Vista x64. I am using the 100.65 driver. I haven't bothered with Dreamscene though.

Happens to me in every single game I play. Titan Quest, NeverWinter Nights 1 & 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Call of Duty 2, Condemned and so on.
The only game that does not give the "driver is not responding" crapola is Oblivion.
well my pc was fine for about a week and now its doing it all the bloody time, god dam it!
I got the Nvlddmkm problem in Supreme Commander, the whole game gets black and freezes then.
Specs:
C2D E4300 @ 3.0ghz
8800GTS 320Mb
Gigabyte 965P-DS3
Already send the bugreport to Nvidia i hope that they finally do something with it.

I hope they fix this with their next official release!!!
I get this with both the 101.41 and the 100.65 drivers, however I got it far more often with the 101.41 drivers. Overall I felt like the 101.41 drivers worked better when they actually didn't crash or lock up. The 100.65's are just not as compatible as the 100.65's but reliability wins the race and thats why I went back to the 100.65's also.

Drivers are going to get way better. Right now I think the lack of stable gaming is due to the drivers for vista. As they get better, gaming will get more stable. And if the devs release patches with thair games then we know it's going to get even more stable.

The only time I get this problem is when DreamScene is enabled when viewing their DreamScene content otherwise when I view a .WMV file as a background I don't get the problem at all. I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

Just started having this problem yesterday, takes a complete restart to get 3d working again. Dual monitor flashes black, sometimes get BSOD about this as well. Have no dreamscene running.. old school win2000 look no areo.
