Getting a Wii for slightly above retail middle of next week... past few gens I grew too used to being able to just get a game I wanted and know I could play it... so I broke down and got a Wii... just need to get the component cables and Zelda or Raving Rabbids.
Also... didn't somebody say Wii Play or whatever was hard to find? My Wal-Mart had like... 6-8 of them in stock.

In getting a Wii... I basically am... hey I had to say something bad or it wouldn't be the same :\.

Wii play is pretty easy to find over here, it's just the nun chuck that isn't :(
As a first game, I'd recommend Zelda over Raving Rabbids. Although it's fun, you can't really play it for that long as some of the games REALLY take it out of your arms. :)

Yeah I watched a few videos of raving rabbids to get a better idea of some of the minigames and some of them just don't look very fun to me... some of then do, but it seems most wouldn't be fun for very long for me, especially since I won't be playing multiplayer often at all.

That's strange. I have the exact opposite problem in my area. Wii Play is hard to find, but there are several stores that have had nunchucks.

Watched some videos on it and it didn't look too good... looked like only 1 fun game out of 8 (or 10 or whatever).
It's good but definitely not as a single player game. If you've got friends over then it's a blast. :) (Wii sports obviously being better though)

Good purchase. No one should deprive themselves of the fun that is the Wii. :D

The only reason to buy Wii Play is that you get the remote. If you look at that portion of it as $40 of the purchase price, it's not that bad a deal. But yeah, if you play it yourself, you can blow through all the games in about 20 minutes. It's much more fun with more than one person.

My brother in law tried to give us a wii i told him if he didn't want it smashed upside his head to take it back. To me as a gamer it's an insult to even consider that crap as a gaming console. It's like frigggin karoke if i did lots of drugs it may have some appeal.
my "real life" friends are all telling me to get a 360 to join them online.. I may just have to give into peer pressure... ;) It'll help us keep in touch, since we all live like in different states now.

Been looking for a wii since christmas and as a fluke went to the electronics section at a Walmart supercenter{My wife, daughter, and I were shopping} and they had some in stock!!!
