man this guy has screwwed up the great state of California. Stole over 37 Billion dollars and got away with it. Thanks to him we have a huge deficit(our state's constitution makes that illegal by the way) and we are facing huge budget cuts across the board in schools, colleges, hospitals, cities, energy prices(still) and hell, my town is being hit hard too. Not to mention that about 2/3 of the population just went to fight Saddam Hussein. This crook, Gray Davis, has to go, and this is the best way of doing it. So all you fellow Californians who give a damn, RECALL GRAY DAVIS! (http://www.recallgraydavis.com/)

All I can say is.....better you than me. :D

We aren't fairing much better. We haven't had the money corruption here but we have had a pathetic liberal govenor in Garry Locke who is driving business out of our state. Including Boeing. Ouch! that one hurt.

Taxes are killing us.

BTW Bu, did you come to this country through the LDS missionary work, mother married an American missionary? I was just wondering how you actually got to this grea country.

Here is something you never hear.

There will no recalling of Gray Davis unless we also recall Dick Cheney. :)

We shouldn't be showing favoritism to ANY blatant crooks. :afro:

I doubt he'd live that long Sy:p

One reason why I don't really like Gov. Davis tho is because he is screwwing over the schools. For example, the local college that we are going to just lost a bunch of funding because of the budget cuts, because of that, we are seeing over a 100% increase in tuition, higher book costs and now teachers being let go and classes being cut. So now I will either have to stop going here or stay here longer and wait until this passes and some of these classes are brought back so I can do my major. I was going to major in physics, can't now, no physics major now;) So its transfer time:D

Out here in Maryland the last governor, Parris Glendening, left behind a 2 billion budget deficit that needs to be taken care of. The new governor wants to make up some of the shortfall with slot machines at the 4 racetracks in this state. However, there is opposition (http://www.washtimes.com/metro/20030311-1056794.htm) to that plan led by black churches who are concerned about the effect of slots {moral grounds, most slots in poorer areas}. Looks like there is going to be an increase (http://www.washtimes.com/metro/20030315-78749896.htm) in taxes and fees that will makes up some of the deficit.

Yeah read about CA letting teachers go. Layoffs possible, schools warn (http://www.careerservicescenter.com/story1.htm)

enrollment increase of about 100,000 studentsWhere the heck all these kids coming from?!?

Wayne Johnson, president of the state teachers union, accused school districts of using the notices as a ploy to force concessions at the collective bargaining table. The union wouldn't want to help out during tough times would it? http://home.earthlink.net/~sbp777/pics/bleh.gif
