A friend just asked me if there is any way to tweak windows so that whenever I maximize a window it won't go full screen.

I have no idea. Is there?
:)

Didn't really understand the question here, because if you just right-click on the tab you'll have the option of restoring the window to its previous size, so why not just set a size and use that? :headexplode:

You could try with the nvidia desktop utility.

Ah yes.. the restore would actually restore it to it's previous size if it is minimized (hence the name), but that's not exactly what I'm asking.

Say you have widescreen, and you like to have MSN and a browser window open in such a way that both fit perfectly on the screen. My question is whether or not you can tweak windows in such a way that when ever I hit "Maximize" it won't occupy the whole screen, but only a specific size.

Does that make any sense?

That makes sense to me...but I don't know of a way to do it.

EDIT: After a little googling...maybe check this out? It's a program that comes with acer widescreen laptops for arranging windows on your screen.

No problemo! Report back if it does what you want it to do.

Apparently the download link was broken. Looking into it now.

EDIT: Downloading now. Will report back once I get home.
