View Full Version : Forceware 100.65 Vista 32/64 WHQL Officially Released
1. Does it say new hardware detected? Possible u need to run the tool again for ur WEI
4. yeah, just install the DX 9.0c coming on ur DVD/CD
Yes, it says new hardware detected and I've "refreshed" and updated it a million times and it still says that. It seems like a profile is never created. I think for some reason it's unable to write the new profile. I'll keep poking around.
About #4
I didn't just reinstall dx 9.0c because I thought vista had some dx 9L or something. I didn't want to mess it up. I still don't see why vista didn't ship with all the dx files people need.
Anyway, thanks.

Reinstalled again and they finally installed. must have been installing the 100.54 that gave me issues.. All is well thus far, cannot wait for SLI..
Reinstalling Vista allowed you to run these drivers?
edit:
Nevermind. I ran regedit and delete everything nvidia/7800GTX that I could, plus anything nVidia/agp that I found and am now running 100.65! I suspect it was the 4 or so entries with agp that were probably the culprit, but am certain installing some rougue modded .inf caused my issue.
Just be very careful to not blow away anything-nVdia that is non-video related, and I had a lot, but it definitely is a lot easier than a total reinstall.
I'll probably mod my own .inf's from now on when I need to.

It'll get noisy once I see "added support for 7xxx series SLI" in the release notes. :D

OK running the 100.65 drivers but I get massive vertical corruption when bringing my monitor out of sleep mode. This is not PC sleep, just monitor sleep. I have to then Ctrl-Alt-Del hit my arrow down key 1 stroke then enter, this logs me out and then I get a login screen which I place my password and wala I can recover. Better this way then a hard reboot. I now know the keystrokes by heart as you cannot make anything out on the screen. It seems many with the 7 series specifically the 7900 have this vertical corruption. Anyone with 6 series or 8 series get this vertical corruption??
And yea it is way to quite around here.... Is the Vista infactuation over? :o
I heard 100.67 are coming out soon. Another WHQL set scheduled for March 5th. There will be some additional features, bug fixes and openGL performance improvement.

Do you have any links you can post with this info?

I tried this and I do not see any corruption when bringing my monitor out of sleep. It wakes right up to the desktop as does PC sleep. I'm using 100.65 on an 8800GTX with Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

Mine comes out of sleep fine.
Mine comes out of sleep fine also (using 100.65 and Vista-64).
Once right after it woke up from sleep I closed a window and it crashed. I'm getting a lot of crashes with 100.65 that I didn't get before.
Sometimes after a crash it vista won't reload. It gets stuck on that black screen right before the windows logo appears. I have to reboot in safe mode...log into my account...then restart to get back in.
And no matter what I do my WEI score for my 8800 GTS is 1.0 :( wtf?

yeah, want to know where the info comes from :)
Submitted a bug report regarding fine tuning colors in the nvcp, 100.65 and Vista 32bit. Color adjustment sliders and graph began toggling quickly while colors on the desktop changed rapidly. repeatable and a reboot set the drivers back to default color settings.
