Weird problem with taken screenshot form DVD.

I've got this weird problem that if I prt screen an image from a DVD I can paste it alright in MSPaint and even save it and view, but as soon as I stop the DVD the bmp goes black even after it has been saved and also viewed.

Why is that and what can I do?

To disable graphics hardware acceleration globally for all applications , select Control Panel>Display>Properties>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshooting in Windows 2000 or XP, on other versions of Windows select Control Panel>System>Performance tab>Graphics>Advanced settings. In both cases slide the Hardware Acceleration slider to None.

Thanks, I had to use VLC to view it though but the screenshot worked fine.
