Just started to play dead rising again..had nothing to do and think why not and boy am I glad :D

Tested it very briefly before and said naah I dident like it at all..just thinking it was a beat em up and nothing more.

But it's more like a action adventure I think so far and it seems realy like a good game!

Do you guys have any tips on how to play the game..progress and so ?

Would be nice to know ;)

yeah I rented this one too but for some reason, I really suck at it....I got killed right in the beginning when the zombies break into the mall because of that old woman. I must have died at least 8-10 times already, and I am at the place where the black dude is fighting that latino guy.

Errrrr, right?

Extremely late to the party, eh?

Dead Rising was just OK. I hate having the overall time limit imposed while playing, plus the mission objectives were really vague at times between what was part of the main story and what were side quests. I got bored after a few hours. I'll probably pick it up again when it hits $20 or less.

wait til you lose a ton of progress because of the world's "greatest" save system.

the game was okay, its more fun to watch someone playing it.

I love that game and the ending was a bit tricky. I haven't tried to finish it but probably will once I hit to max level.

I look forward to Dead Rising 2, rumors that Microsoft paid Capcom load of $$$ to keep DR2 to be XBOX360 exclusive.

Yeah, that too. Thanks for opening up old wounds. :p

I had a problem with the save system in Dead Rising once, and that was because I didn't understand it at first... after that it wasn't as annoying as many claim... and it is probably the best 360 game.

I loved the game and love the time limit even more as it added a sense of urgency unlike any other game. Many times when not even playing the game I caught myself thinking about the best option and in what order to save shoppers so I was on time. I hope they don't do away with the time it because it added so much to the game IMO.:)

Yeah the save system sucks..one have to be careful if not the game starts from the begining heheh.

And yepp I was late to the party as I said first I think the game stinks and maybe it still do, have to play some more but it has some more deapt then a regular crappy beat em up :)

Long as you're enjoying it, that's all that really matters. :)

My post ain't worth a new thread, just got the game....

Rant. Yeah the save system sucks donkey snot. When playing I'm more worried about making sure I know where the nearest save area is and that I can get there in time if need be. Already did the 'die and lose major progress trick' a few times. :thumbdwn:

Not liking the time stress this game puts on the player either, really takes the fun away from the game when having to watch the clock...and the saves.

I still like the game, who doesn't like bashing zombies, but jeebus some game design decisions are craptastic.

DR is a great game, worth finishing to the end.

Last month, I finally finished the game. I forgot how awesome it is. I know it has some flaws but, it's still a great game. Graphics' pretty impressive and sometimes the mall look like a real thing. I think it has to do with some great lighting. Also it's pretty gory.

I think a friend of mine at Blue Castle Games is working on Dead Rising 2. He won't tell me but he did mention long time ago that he's working on something I really like and it's a zombie game. It's a huge project. Hmm, we'll see. There's a rumor that it's going to be in Las Vegas.

This is one of the worst games I've ever played. Horrible save game system. It's extra horrible when someone shoots at you or anything having to do with shooting or aiming. Horrible game.

Anyone heard anything of a followup? Loved this game, and it did well too so I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been a sequel yet.

Edit: I goggled a litte, and Kotako had a fairly recent rumour about DR2 being developed by Blue Castle Games.

Gah, this game is like getting a root canal and a blow job at the same time. Its really great most of the time but jeez there are major annoyances.

I'm early in the game at level 10 and have tried 12 times now to escort some dork back to the Safehouse. First issue is the save point doesnt respawn my AI lacky where I actually saved. Instead of spawning near the doors, the game makes him spawn a good 50 feet away right in the thick of the zombie mosh pit.

Its like near impossible to get this idiot AI through this crowd. I swear this must be harder than herding bi-polar cats. I gave the twit a sledgehammer but he never uses it. He constantly gets stuck on objects and just runs in place. And such a brilliant game design decision to have friendly fire on, NOT. Like I'm suppose to somehow sharp shoot a sledgehammer swing and not hit my walking punch bag friend?

Also like how, even though they are not zombies, the jeep prisoners magically come back to life after I've put many bullets in their heads and taken their jeep.

Option to have save anywhere or difficultly level would of done wonders for this sweet abomination.

Hahaha yeah, those are some flaws. I saved some but focused on story to get best ending. Also for jeep prisoners, you need to destory the jeep so they won't respawn. If you kill the prisoners but not jeep, they will respawn whenever you're in the park.

Couldn't have said it better, really. It's amazing how the game is both a fresh and new next-gen experience, but also bogged down and ruined by three-gens-ago mistakes.

I'm now stuck at the point where I'm suppose to try and kill Carliton(sp?) again but this time he has a sniper rifle that does some serious damage. I laugh at reading the walkthroughs on this part cause they all say bring a shot gun or sniper rifle or quick run around and melee the dude. I have none of this stuff. I did have the 50cal off the jeep that was badass but that ran out of bullets long ago. I look at the screens with the walkthrough and they guy is at level 33 or greater with tons of health and item slots. I'm at level 11 for cripes sake. Am I suppose to go rescue 15 people and level up first before this mission? That'll take me forever.
