Okay, so I've been putting together specs for parts for a new build. I've got a spreadsheet with each item and a link to it on newegg. So, the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 has gone from $985, to $999, to $1,009 over the past 2-3 weeks. I'm seeing it on other pieces of hardware as well? So I thought hardware depreciated - not appreciated. Do I have it backwards?

Pretty normal for this time after the holidays and before the CeBit. (IMO)

Yeah, they dropped a little, but PSU's, RAM, CPU, and CPU cooler all increased in price. :-(

I would say that RAM has dropped. I imagine that the Quads are slowing in production, yet increasing in damand with awareness and system builder needs.

But yeah, teh holiday push is over. There are a few deals left to be had...

Ram prices have went down in a lot of them,I remember not that long ago the PC6400C4 Dominator 2x 1gig was $339 and now it is $269 with a $40 rebate.Occourse I got to trade all mine up to the PC8500C5 Dominator because of the promo IC thing.

Good example of memory prices here.

I couldn't refuse the rebate so I got them for this build. I need to tinker with OC'ing, but everything runs welll as is.
