I was just wondering if you any of you are using Vista as your primary OS now?
I know I am only using it for general work. I am still duel booting into XP for gaming. I have not really tested any games under Vista (I think I should but have not got round to it) as people say that they are slower and the drivers still need to mature for a bit longer.

I only play HL2 on my PC, and under Vista it's just as fast as XP with the 100.64 drivers as long as AA is not enabled. If it is, performance drops by about 2/3. Being that you have an 8800, I would stick with the dual boot for the time being. Since I rarely game on my PC any more, I have no problems keeping Vista as my primary OS.

Yes it's my primary OS. Currently I'm playing CoH, BF 2, BF 2142, and Dark Crusade on it with no issues.

I'm using Vista as primary too. I still have my XP security blanket on another drive I can boot too for anything that doesn't work right under Vista though. ;)
using it too - havent booted to xp since i installed it
its on 24/7 running a website, as well as me playing games on it.. - it has been very stable for me, main problem is sound driver (cmedia 8788) ;)

Using it as my primary OS, have XP as a backup option.
It's the primary and only OS on all 4 of my computers. It helps that I don't play games on any of my PC's. I'm waiting for some decent DX10 games to get out and I'm also waiting for some more DX10 vid card competition before I build another gaming PC.

I'm using it as a primary desktop atm; however, fear and source are the two games I play the most so i'll go out on a limb and say that it kind of sucks seeing a 50% performance hit on both.
other than that i like it
I've used nothing but vista since the day it was officially launched. Have had no problems with any apps (Nero, Paintshop Pro, Office, internet)... although Quicktime doesn't appear to like it much.
Games wise, Titan Quest, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Quake 4, NFS underground 2 all run great. Fear is crippled but I finished that ages ago anyway.
All of the above played on an 8800GTS.
I tried to go dual-boot on my primary gaming machine but I could never get it working so I'm Vista only on both computers. Actually, I still have XP but I keep those drives disconnected so I'd have to manually connect them to go back to XP.
I have Vista Ultimate as my primary OS and XP as my secondary (dual booting). I find Vista to be just fine for ordinary PC use (non-gaming) but XP still holds an edge in gaming which is primarily why I still use it.

I've been using Vista as my main OS since RC2 was released. I still dual boot to XP for some games...but I haven't played many games in the last month so it's pretty much pure Vista Ultimate for me. ANd I just signed up for a microsoft Technet subscription today so I'll be getting Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 really soon. All for only $350 :D Actually...I'm splitting the cost with my roommate :D So $175. Not a bad deal if you ask me

My main OS is OS X of course but on the gaming rig I use a dual boot, XP x64 and Vista x64. XP is just for benchmarking, Vista is the primary OS on that rig.

Primary OS here, just XP for the moment as backup system (dual boot)
If Vista has troubles, so I can start XP to copy my files to backup :)
Recieved my copy of Vista Ultimate yesterday, and is now the only OS on my pc :)
Still using XP as my primary as I still haven't received my 64bit disc, should be any day. I also want better drivers for my 7800s as they'll be with me for a while and performance in games is sub-par right now.
Oh yeah, I'd also like my Zone Alarm pro for Vista. I downloaded the trial and it wouldn't install.
