I would tell you, but mine has been placed on back order  But if you play alot of games, then you will have the best sound card  It is also great for music and dvds, there are better sounding cards for music and dvds, cards using the new Via ENVY24 chipset like the M-Audio Revo. You shouldnt be disappointed by the Audigy2 though.

How does the CPU utilization of a SB Live or Audigy compare to Soundmax?

Probably could have picked up one for less with rebate somewhere else.

Yep. Newegg has them for $112 and a $30 rebate. Offer ends tomorrow, though.

I have owned several soundcards over the lives of my computers. I can honestly say that the Audigy 2 is absolutely the best thing I ever did as far as sound is concerned for my PC.

And when you couple it with a set of 5.1 or 6.1 digital speakers... SCHWING!!!

This soundcard makes 3d positional audio realistic for every game. I see no hits from EAX and EAX2 or from Dolby Digital like I used to with my SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Platinum.

You should love it.

Are the drivers much better for an Audigy2 vs. my SoundBlaster Live! Value card ... the only thing I am looking to upgrade right now would be that soundcard ...

What drives me nuts is I can't use my headphones with any Creative card...unless I spend $150 for a break-out box (that isn't even worth that much). And I sure as heck won't spend $200 for a soundcard where the break-out box is included.

Starting to really miss my $80 TB Santa Cruz...:(

You can use your headphones. I currently do with my audigy 2. Plug the headphone part into an anolog line out, NOT the digital line out. Plug the mic into the mic port. Make sure your speaker settings are not set for digital output only.

Should work.
