Of course that a console can't run 2560x1600 16xAA 16xAF, but, i need a 7900GTX with 56GB/s just for 1280x1024 with 4xAA 16xAF, & it runs R6V barely, while the 360 has np moving GOW @ 1920x1080p 4xAA ??xAF. I know that they're different games, but, it's same engine, UE3.
GoW is rendered at 1280x720 (720p, but upscaled to 1080p). Plus, you're better off not comparing console performance vs. PC performance (remember Halo?).

Game engine has less bearing on performance than the amount of textures used, shaders, and poly count. Thus, Doom3 runs a lot faster than Prey. Remember, a game engine at its core isn't much more than scene management combined with some optimizations (BSPs, occlusion culling, etc).

But otherwise, you're right. Memory bandwidth is important in cases where there are lots pixels and texels to fill. In cases of AA and AF, you're doing this multiple times over the same surfaces, so memory bandwidth is even more important. A faster core will come into play when more vertices need to be transformed and more intensive (and longer) shaders are used.
