Building a Vista system around 8800GTX SLI. I won't be installing the 2nd card until the drivers are mature enough for SLI to work properly. But, I do use 2 screens in normal operation. It's the mode where your Start Menu and Task Bar are on one screen and you can drag windows over to the other screen.

So does this work under the 100.65 WHQL drivers? I can wait on SLI, but I really want my dual screens to work.

Dual displays work FINE, but not if SLI is enabled, same as XP.

That's cool. I only game with 1 screen. Work with 2 screens.

Now, I read on the nVidia SLI FAQ that a reboot is no longer required to go between SLI and non-SLI modes. Is this correct?

Dual view works fine. Span doesn't and apparently won't.

Span works fine, it when you have to use two seperate resolutions under clone mode that doesn't work. It seems that Vista has a re-written video overlay and until nvidia learns this new overlay we will be stuck without overlay accelerated dvd's, DV, and underscan functions.

But if you just ran to run an extended desktop like the OP is asking that works fine (unless you run a really high res dreamscape :thumbdwn: )

I have two widescreen monitors and DualView works fine with 8800GTS 320MB and 100.65 under Vista.

Awesome. I have two Samsung SyncMaster 225BW's (22") and I really like the extended desktop feature. Building my Vista system next week.

Nvidia's specific in house "DualView" does not work, but UltraMon does and is better anyways....so yes, dual displays DO work perfectly in Vista.
