Good morning.

I have RedHat 8.0 and MSI GeForce 4, with Ti4800 chipset.
My computer has an AMD Athlon +1800.

I have tried to setup the NVIDIA drivers both by RPM and TAR files.
I had no success.
Resolution can not be adjusted. It is just 56hz.

With RPM, NVIDIA_kernel is ok but with NVIDIA_GLX i am receiving MD5 checksum error.
With TAR, NVIDIA_kernel is ok but with NVIDIA_GLX i am receiving "unexpected EOF".
I have download it twice but i am getting the same message.

Is the Ti4800 chipset supported? if yes do you have a suggestion to solve the problem.

Many thanks for your very prompt reply.

Thanks

The Ti4800 is an nVidia chip, yes? Then it's supported. That's the beauty of a unified driver architecture -- all the cards they have (well... except the Riva 128's) are supported.

Your error messages are almost assuredly the result of a bad download. I know you've tried it again once already, but try it again using something like wget. wget http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86_40/1.0-4191/NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.tar.gz followed by wget http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86_40/1.0-4191/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.tar.gz

If you don't have wget installed, it should be on your RH CDs.
