anyone ever have this error where after the windows load screen, an lsass.exe error pops up and your computer resets after clicking ok? I've tried numerous bootdisks and utilities after a windows repair failed and just can't seem to fix it. It's for my roomies comp and I'm thinking reinstall windows and backup everything if you guys dont have any prior experiences or suggestions. Thanks

its hard to say
http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/lsass.exe.html
its basically the program that logs you in. by reading the explanation, few things come to the mind
1) did you install any wired or wireless NICs? Some wired and wireless NICs, change defualt "gina" dll. MS uses msgina.dll. In case of Atheros based (Linksys, CISCO, D-link, Netgear) wireless NICs, it uses athgina.dll
2) Nowell Client of Windows also changes gina dll file.
3) Did you install any firewall software?
4) going by that website, LSASS could be a virus, worm or trojan.
