Well I suppose for the average consumer this could be kinda good:

Otherwise maybe if you want Blu-Ray and gaming pick up a PS3.:p

'Bout damned time. And it plays CDs which is a plus, I guess. :rolleyes2

I really, really, REALLY don't want to, but I'm starving for HD movies and BD keeps getting releases I'd really like to see. I may have to cave and buy a player...eventually. :o

This is making it easier to swallow, I guess.

IMO the $300-$350 price point would be when I would consider BD. Might not be getting it for a while.:lol:

I'll spend lots of money on a nice rig, but I will have to be pushed to fork over money to the evil empire.:p

Except that I refuse to use a gaming console as the sole video playback device in my home theater and that I don't have much interest in console gaming to begin with.

I bet Sony is just crying their eyes out because they are having to make a new player that won't get them as much money as they really want.

What about the LG dual format player? Anyone see that in the Best Buy sale ad this week?

Yup, I was laughing when I saw that. I could get a PS3, an xbox 360, and the HD-DVD addon for that price. Then I could play all the games and watch all the movies.
