I can't wait till I can overclock these sticks in my new rig.:D

I will be doing tests to see performance differences between 2GB and 4GB in about 2 weeks via Vista 64-bit.

the Corsair PC8500C5 Dominator is some good ram ,I had one of my sets running at 1200mhz at 5-5-5-15-2T at 2.3v with the corsair fan.but I keep them at 800mhz 4-3-3-6-2T at 2.1v simply because I like running my system at 1:1 ratio at 3.6gigs

My 4GB of 8500C5Ds arrives tomorrow (4GB of 6400C4 won't work in a Striker - thanks ProMOS). After reading this and some posts on the Asus forum, I'm really looking forward to it!

Maybe I should order the Dominator Fan cooler, I don't have any sort of cooler on my memory:rofl

I will. I'm also putting in a pair of Raptors (non-RAID) later this week. I figure some one gotta give you a run for your money! (lee63)

Edit: Anyone got any good settings to start with? I'm going to try running 4:5 with my 400MHz FSB to start with, for 1000MHz. Then I'll probably try moving to 425 FSB, also 4:5, getting to sticks almost to their rated 1066 MHz, and bumping my CPU up to 3.4 (using an 8 multiplier instead of 9). But I'm also tempted to try a 2:3 while leaving the FSB at 400, getting me to 1200 on the memory, and maybe even putting the multiplier back up to 9, since BIOS 1002 finally fixed the vCore control, and I'll soon have a Tuniq Tower to handle the heat.

The more I play with this memory the more I like it.

475 x 7 1:1 @ 1900 FSB / Mem was @ 950Mhz Vcore 1.425 @ 3.3 - Idle-36c Load-58 (orthos)
SiSoftware - MEM = 7814/7828
SiSoftware - CPU = 30532/21296
PCmark05 - 8528

Believe you me that is the way to go. I used to put my finger on my memory when overclocked and it was to hot to stay there. Now with the fan the memory is really really cool. The fan setup is so cheap it's bloody well worth it.

79CFM 120mm fan trumps the Dominator fan. I can't wait for the Stacker to show up.

I still think that the 8888C4 Corsair is the better product ;)

Yup ;)

I just put my 4 gigs of 8500 in, and my system booted right up! Its still on the 6400C4 settings, but this is an improvement! :captnkill:

Have you moved on to BIOS 0901? That is a better BIOS for memory from what I have heard.:D

No way.:p

The 8888C4 can't do 1270MHZ. But maybe I'm wrong.:o

my 8500C5Ds did 1200mhz with no cooling @ 2.3v:lol: I didn't even try to push it, I think the 8888C4s can do better:D

Actually I'm on BIOS 1002 right now. My sig is out of date, and I've got some changes to add to it, so I'll be updating it this weekend.

My previous speed and calculations were backward. Right now I'm running on a 3:2 divider FSB:Memory, putting my RAM right at 1066Mhz, at 5-5-5-15-2T and 2.2v. Time to see how they do in the real world, and tomorrow I run them memtest86 all day (Windows Memory Tester will only address have the memory!).
