GEFORCE 6800 gt problems please help me!!

am a ultra newb on computers... please help me!
when am playing either FEAR, DOOM 3 , Need4speed Carbon. in the first few minutes my whole computers stops working... the screens just gets blurry with colors...(game freezes)
but when i play gta san andreas or counter strike is fine...

1gb of ram
windows vista ultimate edition
nvidia geforce 6800 gt 256 mb of ram ( AGP )
pentium 4 3.04 ghz
32-bit operating system <-- idk what is that sorry am newb
forceware version 100.65
140gb of hd

could be your card is overheating with those games. check your temps.

Could be definately an overheating issue... counterstrike and GTA/SA arent as graphicly demanding as DOOM3/FEAR/NFS-Carbon. Just curious, did you have any of the same problems when you had WinXP installed? Some people do have a driver problem when it comes to using WinVista, its still a somewhat buggy OS.

Pull out your video card and dust it off. It's probably coated with dust, I had the same issue a few months ago. I pulled the card out, took off the graphic cover on the heatsink/fan, used a can of air duster to clean it off, put the cover back on, reinstalled the card, no problems since.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE!! everyone was right! the video card was overheating.. i unscrewed the video card and dust it off like butter bandit said thx alot guys!!!
