Hi,
Well I thought we were safe to play our games without installing directx 9.0c on Vista, but we had to install the dx9.0c runtime in order to play dx9 games, so were is the promised dx9.0L who's faster than dx9.0c?
Any traces of it in Vista?
Possibility MS still needs to release it?
How mature is dx10?
Start the discussion!!!! :D

My DX9 games worked fine with Vista out of the box, and I didn't have to install any DX runtime libraries.

because those are old installers, and they force you to install that anyway.
it does not install entire directx9c, it only will install few extra DLL that will be located under C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET, something like managed directx folder. can't check now

I haven't had to install DX9 for any games I've installed in Vista. Mind you I've only installed a few....

keep in mind that it does not actually install DX9, it just installs what are called bi-monthly D3DX, XInput, and Managed DirectX components.

so, what does DX9.0L contain, and what's the path to it?
