Who's Using Debian 64?

I am using Debian 64 (2.6.18-3-amd64) and everything is working great with the exception of I have no flash plugin for Firefox or Iceweasel. I know that there is no 64 bit version available but I was wondering what is the best way to work around this problem? I spend way too much time streaming music from Purevolume.com and would think there would be some work around to getting this working on a 64 bit system.

Debian SID for AMD64 since 2005 :D.
I've a complete 32Bit chroot for mozilla/iceape with the flashplugins and also somehow when I've to use wine/cedega.

Umm. OK - would you mind sharing how you did this or point me in the right direction?

It tells you how to get a 32bit mplayer for MS Windows codecs, but I think you
know how to get Iceweasel...

No luck with that URL you linked. I get as far as step 1.2

debootstrap -arch i386 sid /var/sid-386-chroot http://ftp.debian.org/debian/

This command does nothing but I don't get any errors.

Also steps 1.1 and 1.2 have $ before the commands which makes no sense as a regular user would not have permissions to write to /var/* :(

you can put your chroot everywhere you want... I've put them into /emul/32bit-chroot right next to the ia32-libs

try:

debootstrap --arch i386 sid /emul/32bit-chroot http://ftp.debian.org/debian/

It appears to me too annoying. Just switched back to i386 Etch and everything works great!

The integration of 32 bit software is indeed the major pain in the Allerwertesten in Debian and Debian derivates.

I need two 32 things:

1) a Mozilla Firefox chain with plugins (I use the same one on 32bit and 64 bit Linux and FreeBSD, the same tarball).

2) xine/mplayer with 32 bit Windows decoder dlls.

I found that I can solve problem 2) by compiling a couple libraries myself into /usr/local32 and then carefully construct the ./configure line for wine and things work.

Number 1) however is completely wrecked between Debian stupidity and GNOME stupidity and there seems to be no way to relocate where GNOME expects some of the *.so files (such as libgnomevfs.so), in particular no environment variable. So I ended up with number 1) in a chroot, which is a total pain.

I'm really not happy about the state of things here.
