where are the cards?

In my pants...now...please don't bother me with these....questions again. When I get upset, I move around and when I move around, the cards cut me....it hurts me so.

Be careful there, given that the 3D Mark used is the 2006 version and the 8800 GTX figure is 11900 then that system is using a QX6700 processor. So the score may be inflated just a tad.

That's just beautiful...ya know. That's a very impressive score for a mid-range card, especially at a 128-bit bus. It outperforms for GF 7800 GTX 512 and it has a 256-bit bus! I'm looking to get either a G90 or a R600, but maybe I might pick one of these bad boys up for my computer as a back up card or something. Sweet!

God....That 8600GTS is SO mine....hopefully they won't release a 8600GTX/ Ultra or 8900GS that makes me regratting my purchase soon...
18/04 is my B-day :D
I beg for my Antec ( smartpower ? ) Fusion 430W PSU to squize out enough juice ( E4300 @ 3Ghz, 2x 200Gb Samsung HD's )..It's 80nm afterall ( why oh WHY no 60nm? :( )

I want to see this compared to the 7950 GT 256, as that is the card at around the same price range. But from what I have seen so far the 8600 GTS is a very wild card, ranging from sometimes alot better, to actually worse.

If I was going to buy a mid range card now I would simply get a 8800gts 320mb. The 8600's 128bit bus cripples it far too much for my liking.

That's what I'm thinking as well. nVidia should have not released the 320meg GTS, and just released the 8600GTS with a 256bit bus. Maybe they'll release an 8650 or 8700 that has the 256bit bus- hopefully anyways.

The 8600gts(Oc'd) vs 7900gt(stock) benches in 3 games.

http://sg.vr-zone.com/?i=4883&s=2

Not quite as good in those games. Maybe driver issues or the card requires dx10 to really start showing it's performance advantage over a 7900gt. It does have better AF and AA+FP16 HDR though.
