Very annoying, I play the game and suddenly screen goes black and CTD :thumbdwn:

Damned, my stability score goes down as the progress I made, cause didn't safe always, still at the beginning of the game, just killed a knight on a horse, then found some thieves and killed them all, entered some kind of building under the ground, not cave and got a crash

Got a crash yesterday aswell, the second time I met the king

Very annoying!!!

Somebody knows how to fix this?

What drivers are you using?

And if you have dreamscene enabled, disable it and see if that helps.

101.41, no Dream Scene yet on Dutch OS

Try the 100.65 drivers and see if they are more stable.

I have the same problem with 100.65. Sometimes it doesn't even CTD, it just freezes, and I have to use task manager to end the program.

It always appears to happen during area transitions; either when loading new cells in the exterior, or moving between exterior and interior.

I haven't tried running it in XP compatibility mode yet, but that's my next step.

It didn't work.

I guess it's also a driver issue, like with much games on Vista, cause I don't think it's just an OS error

Does the same for me.

Are any of you using Oblivion Script Extender?

Also, there's a thread in the official forum that recommends using the compatibility options to disable Aero and desktop extensions when running the game. I did that, and disabled OBSE, and the game ran for a hour with no crashes - I did eventually encounter some stuttering, but that's probably a driver issue.
