Just spotted that a new windows xp driver found its way on to the net - 100.87 today dating 14th of Februaury 2007. This one comes from Leadtek and only supports (by default in the .inf):

NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0191.1 = "WinFast PX8800 GTX TDH(NVIDIA)"
NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0191.2 = "WinFast PX8800 GTX TDH(NVIDIA)"
NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0193.1 = "WinFast PX8800 GTS TDH(NVIDIA)"
NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0193.2 = "WinFast PX8800 GTS TDH(NVIDIA)"

Download very slow but available @ ftp://ftp.leadtek.com/entertainment_graphics/Drivers/020907_V10.5/100.87/

Hope we get a better host with modified inf to support all cards soon!

To install, you'll need to copy setup files from another driver, the setup provided only appears to work with those leadtek cards.

I don't know about you, but I'm just happy WinXP users get a new driver to play with, they seem to be forgotten by nvidia these days! Anyway, let's get downloading!

Finally a current XP driver. 94.20 is dated back in Nov. '06 if you can believe it. But why does it have to be exclusive to 8800? Can they not be bothered to also test for the rest of the family of cards? I'm sure it would work perfectly fine with a modified INF but why the hell does it need be?

One word:

WOOOHOOOOOOOO!!! (nana2)

*tests*

Hoping the Unreal 2 engine stutter, Source engine fog, Jedi Academy slowdowns (doubt it though) will be fixed among others.

If u tested the driver, please post ur findings, also if the bugs are killed...

I only use WinXP when I need to, but for gaming I use Vista

I'm using 7950gx2, there seem to be no SLI option, I know that Rel100 for Vista didn't have SLI in early releases untill 101.41, so perhaps same goes for Windows XP? If anyone manages to get SLI working on 7950gx2 with these, please let me know how, thanks!

Jedi Academy NOT fixed.

U2 engine stutter is still there but seems better.

Overlays not applying upon reboot in 97.92 is fixed in these :)

To bad there is no 64bit version. Oh well...97.92 works fine for now. Atleast the nay-sayers can be quiet about there being no more XP support...

Hmm, still scalling and custom timings are broken. You can't use rivatuner or nHancer with this driver either, not compatible. ntunes still doesnt work for me so I'm back with ATITool for overclocking.. Not great so far..

EDIT: something good, might just be me but 3dmark06 performance is up .. SM2/3 scores are slightly higher giving a 100pt increase at the same clockspeeds as with previous drivers. Also, scalling is infact working !! :D

I have 2 questions :

(1) What about CoJ broken shadows ?
(2) Can we start the games using DirectShow (like Runaway 2 ??)

Remember that nVidia has said that the 100.xx drivers for Vista and XP will have the bug with slowdowns when running anything over 4x AA. Just a reminder.

Lol no SLI Support? :thumbdwn:

I can't enable SLI either. What cards do you have?

It might be due to the faulty installer or something. I had to install these thru the device manager.

SLI is broken just like in early 100.xx for Vista :(
