motherboard manufactures should start including more USB ports in the back

get rid of the LPT, serial, PS/2 audio plugs, and add more USB!

10 usb, 2 NIC, 2 firewire, and 1-2 eSATA, thats all that should be on teh back of new motherboards

LOL

More USB would be handy. Although I use the front headers on my 830 so in total I have 10 USB ports right now. 6 at the rear and 4 up front.

Also I agree with ditching the serial and LPT ports on enthusiast boards. Maybe even audio (until the stop including crap c-media/realtek chips anyway)

yah get rid of those worthless ports and add some more USB. most of us don't have room for pci cards with an sli system and an audio card.

Also add more sata ports inside, i always run out....guess 5 hd's isn't very common :captnkill:

It drives me nuts that they took the game\midi ports off of everything and left the LPT and Com ports. :|

I have plenty of USB, 2 in the front, 6 in the back and 4 on a PCI slot (not a card, just the ports with cables leading to the MB.

Most MBs come with more then the ones on the back, you just have to use an expansion to access them.

I still have a gameport joypad but don't ever use it...

EDIT:
Have also 4 more USB Ports on my monitors base...

I have an excellent steering wheel that uses a gameport. Its probably one of my favorite input devices ever but I haven't been able to use it for years because there aren't any gameports on any sound cards or motherboards any more and the Gameport to USB adapters cost almost as much as a new wheel.

I wish motherboards had some sort of "legacy device" standard that allowed ports to be added by plugging them into the board. There are still people who use LPT, COM and game port devices, but we either don't get any legacy ports or we get one or two that may or may not be what we need.

Kinda sucks.
