X-Fi 2? As in new hardware or is that what they are calling the new X-fi software for Vista?

Any news if this is finished? Or beta or what?

Oh I see. Wonder what features the X-fi 2 has. Hopefully not EAX 6.0. I only just got this X-fi. Last thing I need is an excuse to upgrade and spend more money :D

Is this software AND drivers, or should I download the newest driver as well?

Yeah I'm totally against an X-Fi 2... I just got my X-Fi... and really what is the need for another product line at this stage? I cant think of any significant advances that can be made over X-Fi right now, at least in terms of what would be able to differentiate from X-Fi 1 in terms of SQ/features and not just paper specs. Get X-Fi working right on Vista first Creative before rolling out another product line forcing yet another upgrade.

I just hope Creative doesn't focus on Vista with the X-FI 2, leaving us with X-FI 1's high and dry.

I installed this software.

I haven't had a chance to test it much but I had to install the driver included in the CD image for the audio control panel to work properly. It isn't the newest driver, but its the one before it (which worked fine for me).

Um.. why would the X-Fi 2 software leak before even rumors of the hardware hit the web?
I doubt it.. I doubt this very much..
New version of the X-Fi software, or modded software.. either one of those seems alot mroe likely.

when YouP-PAX says its X-Fi 2 software, it is X-Fi 2 software.

Then Id like to present the theory that he is calling this software suite "X-Fi 2"..
id still wanna post some pics of incoming X-Fi 2 for you to have a look.
There are no pics of any hardware, and he doesnt call it "incoming X-Fi 2 softwar" so..

He also writes:
I haven't got spec yet, but it probably uses Fedelity chip as well.
I remember this guy, he also hacked Audigy1/2 driver/software to work on SBlive and later x-fi driv/soft to work on Audigy
He usually knows what he talks about

he knows little to much about creative, it wouldn't suprise me if he worked for them, or has some inside contacts

Nice! I've been waiting for the creative software for way too long! This is great!

EDIT: Got home, downloaded, installed, and it works!!!!! Sweet! I've gone since November with out the volume panel. Oh how I have missed it. :D

I tried it too. I had originally installed my X-Fi in Vista using a combo of the XP software for the X-Fi and the Vista drivers, which worked pretty well. That allowed me to at least use the X-Fi console.

So, for me this software added the THX panel and the Creative volume control icon in the bottom right corner of the desktop. So, its at least a step in the right direction. BTW...I'm still using the latest Vista X-Fi driver with these too. Overall its worth it.
