What fan are you using....

I am curious what non-stock fan (or even stock if thats the case) fans everyone is using to overclock thier Intel Core 2 Duo's. As I have said in several threads I plan to start building my system this week and I plan on overclocking the E6600 I am getting and then in a month my Q6600 when the prices drop. I am curious what fans you all have been using to get your nice OC's so I can pick one up. I currently am still using my Zalman 80mm all copper heaksink and love it. Will one of these work on the C2D or is something much better out now for these CPU's?

I think using AS5 makes a big difference. make sure you don't use much, b/c too much will reverse the desired effect. make sure no air pockets are going to come into existence.

I think that a Zalman 95/9700 would might be good, but I would search for a really good HSF that weighs less than 450g. I've heard that the guy at performance-pcs.com is rude on the phone, but they do have a large selection of the very best parts.

+1 I'm prolly going to try ceramique on the next build, mainly because it is non conductive. If you get a Zalman 9700 it comes with their own special brush on paste that is supposed to be decent.

The Tuniq Tower will give max performance, but the Zalman is dead quite.

I'm currently using a Zalman CNPS 9700, but it's way too loud for my system, and it doesn't perform as I expected it to. So I will probabily go for a Thermalright Ultra 120 or an Ultra 120 PLUS with a Scythe S-Flex SFF21E fan or a Noctua NF-S12-1200 (although I fear the pressure from this one would be a little low)...

I'm using the stock Scythe Infinity fan which is dead silent(only spins a max 1100rpm). Keeps my cpu at a max of 54c running Orthos.

Im using the Zalman CNPS9700 LED Aero (http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=229&code=009) with Arctic Silver 5 (http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm)...

Keeps my overclocked C2D E6600 at 40c-41c idle and around 60c load(intel thermal analysis tool with 100% workload)

The Best air cooler is the ThermalRight 120Ultra Plus no questions asked! The only down side is it doesn't cool the MOSFETS.

Form what I have been reading the Scythe SCINF-1000 120mm CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink seems to be one of the best you can get. Right now I have my eye set on that :) Kind of expensive is the only downfall but from some temp benchmarks I have seen its always ranking as having the lowest temps or very close to the lowest. I also saw on newegg from reviews that its extremely quiet too.

Well the Thermalright 120Ultra Plus gets temps close to TEC cooling! I currently own the 120 Ultra w/ a 1700rpm fan and the temps are amazing just wished the HSF was not so high so i can have my 140mm fan at the top of the case to cool the MOSFETS for higher overclocking. Temps are excellent. 35C idle and 61C under 100% load after 5 hours. This is with 1.6v too.

For the money the AC Freezer 7 Pro is hard to beat. I am testing now at 3.4GHz with a E6600 on a MSI 650i board. Temp in SuperPi, 32MB test, is 37C. Ambient room temperature is 22C.
