I had always wondered why they only had the one side button. Now I know, to sell more mice!

Anyway, G7 FTW!

Well we don't even know if they will release a revised G7, so don't jump ship quite yet.

Damn, I didn't think they were ever going to do this. Good call Logitech! :D

I love my MX518 though. No reason to upgrade at this point. :)

Nice. I'll stick with my MX1000 though. Best. Mouse. Ever.

I have two MX1000 mice, and I still prefer the G5 because it slides a lot better and weighs less.

I never use the side button anyway, so I probably won't get another G5 (already have 2), but I'm sure there will be a lot of people who were holding out because of it that are going to pick it up.

I'm waiting to hear if they fixed the wheel mouse button a little, that is the only complaint I have about the old G5. I broke the middle button, and even when it worked you would sometimes side scroll on accident trying to click it.

Any idea when this is going to hit retail?

I love my mx1000 too :D

But, best mouse ever == MX Revolution.

Both of mine are PRICELESS :D

Not for gaming though :(

So would you say the MX Revolution is not so good for gaming?
I was looking at this mouse at Best Buy yesterday and it looked pretty cool, but maybe too "busy". Curious.

I'll put it this way.

I LOVE the mouse, but I use the middle-mouse click for quick/change for weapons.

Because of the way the middle-mouse button/wheel is made on the revolution, it just doesn't lend itself to quick action.

For example, with the mx1000, I can jump and quick switch from desert eagle to arctic warfare magnum in cs:s and back several times before I land, I've played the game long enough for it to work. I am not going to re-train myself just to make up for this one issue on the revolution.

On the flip-side, the free-spin feature on the revolution alone makes it better than EVERY mouse out there. If you've never used it, you have no idea how cool it is for large websites (i.e. forums with lots of posts in a thread), word documents and large spreadsheets. It's a friggin god send.

And its comfortable :)

now all they have to is get rid of that cord.

i cannot stand cables - my room has far too many as is.

I just used someones Revo today and I'd agree I wouldn't game with it either. The scroll wheel doesn't have clicks, so you can't tell how far you've scrolled. Switching weapons with that would be a major pain.

The wireless in the Revo and MX1000 shouldn't really cause an issue with lag as I know a few people who have used the 1000 as well as myself for gaming, and there isn't any lag, but it is still possible to get interference, espically if multiple people are using them in the same room. One of the drawbacks is that because it is on battery, they tend to goto sleep fairly quick, so if your trying to snipe or just chilling somewhere holding the flag, I've had the mouse go to standby and the first click or first movement doesn't register.

There is no doubt though that they are accurate as everything, I can easily do pixel by pixel across the screen, and still be able to jerk the mouse and do a 180 if I need to.

I'd be tempted to try a G7 though if they did come out with the new one. The wireless can be nice at times, but there are a few negatives as well.

The scroll wheel is graded on the revolution.

Click down on it to put in free-spin, click again for regular graded movement.

O really? I didn't know that, it just happened to be on free-spin then. That is kinda sweet actually.
