SyncToy 1.2

anyone have synctoy 1.2 setup file? or some alternative for vista?

i had 1.2 installed and it worked fine, did a mistake by installing the latest 1.4. now it crashes on start.

Wow...I've never heard of this program before! Several times I have wished there was such a program...and it looks like there is....sweet! So you say 1.4 doesn't work in vista?

EDIT: It says 1.4 is designed for vista....so it should work...

Ok so I downloaded 1.4 and it doesn't work for me either.....just crashes on startup...I'm using Vista x64 though....maybe it doesn't like that? Are you using x64 or x86?

Oh and did you ever find 1.2 for download? I can't seem to find it either....but if you find it I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it :D

oh and i did find 1.2 ;), but it won't install because it complains that .net 1.1 is missing.

i know how to get it to work, just have to install on xp 32bit, and transfer the folder to vista. and it will work.

remmember this won't install on vista, it will install on xp, then just transfer the folder from xp to vista, it will give you compability warning message, i just ignored it and it worked fine.

1.2 works, its funny that MS released 1.4 that 'supposed to" work with vista, and 1.4 just crashes right on start

I'm thinking that it may be a Vista 64bit problem. I'm going to install it on my laptop (which is 32bit Vista) to test this theory...I'll report back). Is there a way to report this to microsoft without calling them? I don't really want to talk to some idiot who has no clue what's going on. Or to someone that doesn't speak english....

Ok I installed it on vista x86 and it works perfectly :thumbsup: So i guess it's a 64bit problem....hopefully they fix this...
