Holy crap did any of you see the performance by Kobe Bryant last night vs. Portland??!! That guy is a beast when it comes to clutch!! 24 points in the 4th quarter, 59 points in regulation, 3rd 60+ game of career. He's the man, glad I was able to watch him live in action last month on a blowout against Boston :)

What's more, he's getting a lot better on defense too.

I would still take LeBron over Kobe. Any day.

Dunno Brian.

Lebron is brute force, Kobe is a much better player all around. Lebron, one of these days, will add a little finesse to his game a la Amare and become unstoppable. He NEEDS a mid-range game to take it to the next level.

I still think Kobe is peaking, LeBron, despite all his talent, still has upside.

I just do not like how Kobe plays. Not sure why, just don't.

lebron has absoluetly nothing on Kobe. Kobe is more mature, has championships, and his high scoring games, like the one against Raptors last season, and others, show that he is the premier player in the NBA now. His teammates are not so good however i think, when compared to teammates of Nowitzki or Nash. Lebron is an awesome player, dont get me wrong, but i think Kobe is the tops in NBA now.

Kobe>Lebron

Lebron is not a very good Free Throw shooter.

Neither was Wilt and neither is Shaq Jacob. Besides, Lebron isn't a bad free-throw shooter, he's a damn sight better than Tim Duncan from the line as well :)

Yup, but if you are up for comparison's, all I am saying is that Kobe is a much better FT shooter, just more well rounded IMO.

Kobe can score points, and is the best offensive player in the league ATM.

However, Lebron > Kobe because of the tremendous potential that he still has.

Plus, Kobe is an a$$hole and everyone on his team hates his guts.

Lebron is a better passer and rebounder as well, and an all around better athlete. Anyone would take Lebron on their team over Kobe in a fraction of a heartbeat.

He's a dirty player. I've always thought that, but now, it's starting to come out in the open.

Compared to whom?

Look at any of the players out there, in college and in the pro's and you'll see them pulling/tugging/elbowing and the lot.

The dirtiest player in the league is Bruce Bowen, bar none.

Heck I would say that Lebron is a dirtier player simply because of his head-of-steam charges (that are called blocking fouls for some reason) over pretty much any opponent.

I always called kobe: Kobe "Don't piss me off" Bryant. Because when he gets mad, he OWNS the court, his shot percentage is like 100% when he's mad. And you can tell when he gets mad. Kobe>Lebron

I really dont understand how a player can be better then another, simply based on "potential". I dont see how kobe is an a$$hole, and i think his team has no choice but to love him since he almost single handedly wins games for them. And i know i would pick Kobe over Lebron anyday. Plus Kobe has the experience of winning it all several times.

Yeah...Kobe is a dirty player...He does what everyone else does but gets called on it because the league doesn't care for him. The NBA should be kissing his ass right now. Teams that don't sell out ALL SEASON sell out when Kobe comes to town, and that's a fact. He getting the NBA money hand over fist...But yeah, he's a dirty, rotten player that no one want's to watch...jeez...

Why does the league ignore him so much? Am I correct in saying he's never officially been MVP (besides at the allstar game)?

Thats an idiotic comment on so many levels. You dont get to the level of basketball GOD being a ball hog.

That's correct.

The mere fact that someone like Steve Nash is being considered for his 3rd straight MVP sort of highlights things.

No offense to Steve, I think he's a tremendous player, one of the consumate passers in the game and he is lethal from all over the court in space but look at all the players over the years who have thoroughly dominated and not received an MVP.

Heck, look at the season that KG had to have to get an MVP, that Shaq had to have to get an MVP. Kobe had a similar season last season and didn't get squat. Nash has not dominated like those guys and yet he's in the conversation. And please don't mention the best record and all that stuff crap, if that was the case, MJ should have won more MVP's.

If anyone but Dirk gets it this season, there is a serious problem with expectations and perceptions.

Dirk Nowinski is an amazing player, although it strikes me they like to give MVP to the less flashy players as a way of "rewarding behavior".

Sazar
03-24-07, 09:22 PM
If that was the case, Dirk would still win though :)

Yeah, of course I wan't Kobe to get it, but that seems like a pipe dream at this point. I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have Dirk get it instead of Nash. Nash is a good player, but 3 MVP's in a row? I don't think so...
