View Full Version : Program to check temps of 8800 GTX in Vista
Since the drivers don't do this anymore (at least that I can see) is there a program that I can view temps for my card? The drivers in XP from Nvidia did this nicely.

Download the enhanced control panel. You will need to run it as admininstrator but it does tell you.

I have a program called Nvidia Monitor. It comes with nTune.
ATITool 0.27 beta 1 (you can also overclock with it)
Can you adjust the fan speed for the 8800GTX with ATITool 0.27 beta ?

Are there any that will work on Vista x64? nHancer works for adjusting settings but it can't do any driver-level editing.
The maker of ext2fsd (http://ext2fsd.sourceforge.net/) found out how to get around non-signed drivers by including a test-signature. You have to boot Vista in test mode, but at least the setting won't reset itself everytime you restart.

Is there any way of getting NvTray to work in vista. That was excellent at displaying temps and FPS.

Nope. :(
Still waiting for such a prog. Perhaps the next beta will do it.
Doesn't Rivatuner do this and provide OSD while gaming?

Everest Ultimate show GPU, GPU Diode, GPU Memory and GPU Ambient temperatures.
I use it on my Vista Ultimate x64 with success.

Well, it will do what the OP asked. Buggy? Sometimes, but you can use profiles that load conditionally, or unconditionally. You just gotta learn how to work it.
Alternatively, you could use ntune to FIND your proper clocks, and then use ATItool to set them instead of ntune. I personally find this method to be the best when I was playing around with 3DMark, which incidentally is the single reason I can think of anybody wanting to overclock these cards.
