Admit it, you're a gamer, you bought it because it was "designed for gamers!11!11oneoneone".

i bought it about 2 years ago, because it was the best gigabit router i could afford, and at that time had the fastest cpu inside that could handle allot more traffic that anything else on the market for that price, plus atheros super G, works great with my mini-pci atheros super-G card in my notebook.

anything else you got to say for your self?

Marketing joke, a "Gaming Router"? Right...

I almost peed my pants, "GameFuel™ Priority powered platform reduces latency and boosts network efficiency and performance". Why not just call it QoS/ToS and that they're prio TCP packets less than 64K, TCP ACK, and UDP.

Just get a BHR-G54S and put OpenWRT on it, it'll do real QoS if you want to do it; I do.

ur wRONG!! Actually, It talKs to Teh Upstream RoutwrS and RECONGiZGuRS them to Priortize YOUR trafFFC!!

So...why exactly do you need 1000Mbit at your house? I'm actually running a fileserver/mailserver/webserver and I really don't even need 10Mbit. I'm just curious why you're LAN requires so much local bandwidth?

Truth. I've heard people say " I don't want that motherboard, it's only got 100Mb. " when discussing building a home system. /boggle

I guess what's really confusing is that 1000Mbit is never really 1000Mbit sustained. Additionally, what's the aggregate bandwidth available on that 1000Mbit switch? Certainly it's not 1000Mbit per switch-port? What's the point of a 1000Mbit wireless router even?

I guess I'm just a little confused by it all, especially the whole QoS renamed by marketing folks.

Yeah, good luck 32bit 33MHz PCI doing 1Gbps.

Full non-blocking gigabit switches are more common nowadays though, whereas just 2-3 years ago it'd be 8 ports sharing a 1Gbps bus to the switch backplane.

I attest men, the DGL-4300 is an awesome router.

Dont mind the makitecture, many companies do it to appeal to certain crowds, like, gamers :)

And it is a Gb router which was a big selling point for me :)

Despite non-cisco routers, this thing can take a beating. There are 6 computers on the LAN and the QoS (GameFuel) really helps when gaming and having p2p/Torrents running concurrently.

Havent had to reboot it in several months and can handle thousands of connections without any issue...

And the CP is very nice, there is also a web filter that can block sites like a firewall; more or less, block everything but explicitly stated domains, etc.

It also has something called sentinel, which I dont know anything about, but here is what it says.

The Parental Controls service is a simple yet effective way to limit access to offensive, illegal or hateful web sites. This service covers all PC's or Apple Computers behind your router and is always automatically updated in real time. (No need for you to download or manually input sites.) This service is fast and will not slow down your network. More info...
