only 2 gigs of ram and you want to run vista? haven't you heard?

4gigs of ram is the "sweet spot". i didn't think it was a big deal but vista orgasms over 4 gigs of ram. helped my gaming performance big time.

please if you are going to give advice then please make it accurate.
i run vista ultimate 32 bit, with a 6800GT ultra and 2 gigs of corsair xms2 6400 ddr2 ram......and can play my game just as well as i did in xp..........get your facts right before posting crap..........

So you don't think increasing ram from 2-4gig will help performance?

hmm going to 4 gigs sounds interesting and something to look into.

But if you go to 4 gigs don't you have to run Vista 64 bit to take advantage of it ?

I have a MSDN sub so I have both but not looking forward to a re-install to do this.

Continued reading the comments on that link... sounds like you can run 4 gig on a 32 bit.

well 4 gigs is apparently the cap, but I think people have been getting 3.75 or so reported back to them.

64bit is a tad more I believe, terrabytes maybe :o

So I understand that you will not get the full 4 gig in a 32 bit setup, something like 3.1 - 3.75 gigs from what I have been reading.

But above that is being used by system, video address etc., so in effect you will be using all 4 gig. Not sure how true that is atm, will have to read more.

I won't be upgrading with my current system, but next time I upgrade I will prob look at more ram.

Don't think my current mobo has much more it can upgrade.

I did make it accurate, there are is a lot of information backing up my statement. I also have 4gigs of ram and notice a huge difference from when I had 2gigs. You may be able to play your games just as well.. but thats not saying much.. I could be really mean here after your aggressive post.

so maybe you should read some documentation first and then call bs. I did my research, I have the experience, and my pc's experience with a 64bit Vista and 4gigs of ram is proof. :afro2:

I guess in Vista 32-bit, u can use 4GB of it, but just read it somewhere, don't know if this is real or not

You can use 4GB in Vista 32-bit. You have to enable PAE in Vista and enable memory remapping in the BIOS for it to work.

I had pretty horrible performance when i tried to run '06 today, first 2 test were about 5 fps lower than xp each. CPU tests were 500 pts lower then usual, and I had to stop the canyon test because the fps were too painful to watch - 10 or 15fps for the first 30 sec or so, so I ended it. I was curious to see how Vista was, after I recording my highest score in XP earlier today but apparently Vista doesn't care...
