I remember reading the SLI FAQ on the nVidia site and it said as of some driver version, reboot was no longer required. I'm assuming this is XP only since the Vista drivers are so immature. Anyone know if nVidia is planning to remove the reboot requirement in Vista and when?

I think it's already not required. It switches to the new version as soon as it's installed. And the installer defaults to "No I will restart later."

There is no reboot required with the 101.41, unfortunately that driver is too buggy for me.

When I switch mine to "multi-gpu" mode it immediately asks for a reboot.

Ofcourse it blows up and the driver quits altogether after rebooting. But this is with a 7950GX2 so maybe that has something to do with it.

Mine would ask twice to go into sleep mode, but after cancelling both requests and just waiting for the computer to figure things out, SLI would finally enable correctly. Took me awhile to learn this 'cause I'm not the most patient person with this kind of stuff.
