new drivers on GF2 (GTS)

Hello,

I use a Asus GF2 GTS with 30.87 drivers.
My question is: is it interesting to use for example the 'new' 42.82 drivers on this videocard?

My 'problem' is that the 30.87 drivers don't support DX9 and it won't be long before the first DX9 games come out. I also have some 'shimmering' in for example SOF2 and hope it goes away with those newer drivers.

I was using the 42.86 driver set with a GF2 GTS (until I got my GF4, that is). They worked just fine on my system. Performance has pretty much plateaued since the 30.xx set, so don't expect a huge jump in speed. IQ seemed to be pretty good, though...

Dunno. Some people say the OpenGL support doesn't work when you use the newer drivers on GeForce2 cards.

For example, in Neverwinter Nights.

GL worked fine in JK2 on mine...
