Noone else has this problem so it must have something to do with my monitor and DCC information. It's a 19'' CRT.
Anyways, whenever a game runs in a resolution other than the desktop res (it might just be refresh) the game gets corrupted. Alt+Tabbing back to the desktop didn't fix it and I'd have to hard restart. I've dealt with this for a while now.. avoided it by either running games I could set res/refresh through a config file or just set my desktop to the res the game ran in.
Lots of EA games run at native res for videos though, so I had trouble playing them.
Sometimes it would always break, sometimes it would be random, depending on the driver..
I just about gave up on it being fixed as noone else had the problem and nVidia didn't respond to my cries for help (thanks a lot) but the latest driver sorta fixed it. Games still get corrupted, however, I'm able to alt+tab out of them.
I'm able to CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the Vista screen where you start task manager, it sets itself to the ingame res and i can close it, then the game is fine. I'm able to play, alt+tab or do whatever I want to do.
I don't know why I'm posting this.. just, I'm glad there is a workaround to the one showstopping bug in the Vista drivers, I haven't been able to play many games since Vista final showed up on MSDN.
