I've been wondering about this for a long time. I know it's stupid of me not to know the answer already, but I don't.

Anyways, I don't have a ROM only drive and so I was wondering how I could play ALL games on my RW drive?

It doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense that you would need a rom only drive to play ALL games b/c 1/2 the oems/system builders don't even offer a rom only drive.

I never have and never will be into recording CDs b/c I've always had a rom only drive, up until now.

Uhhh, what? I can't say I've ever had a problem with using a RW drive to read a disc....infact I haven't had a CD-ROM drive in close to 5 years now....

I had thought that Ubi Soft put on all of their games something like, "may not work with writable drives."

It could have something to do with piracy.

But thanks to everyone for replying.

I guess I won't have any problems.

It wasn't the disk that would have issue it was the Copy Protection the game used, many protections in the past had issues with a Burner installed in the PC but it was extremely rare in most cases, just like the people who complain about starforce. Very few people had issues but the ones that did cried loud about it.

I'll try to phrase these highly complex hax0r instructions in terms that you can understand kevpla1.

Press the "eject" button.

Place the game disk in the trey.

Press the "eject" button again.

Click yes to whatever comes up on the screen.

You use the eject button to retract the tray? Im use to just slightly pushing it so it automatically goes in...

A normal person yes, but I have to take into account that kev might snap off the drive tray

Actually, my friends say I take too good of care of my things, so I don't let them or my family go into anyroom with anything of mine in our house.

I have obsessive compulsive disorder, in case you didn't notice=)

Do you even read what you write before posting? Because that makes no sense to me at all.

So you don't let your own family who pays for your room in their house go into your room.

Gotcha.

Gotcha.

My dad really is the only one that pays for it, and you know my mom doesn't work. if my parents wanted to come in they'd be wasting money b/c they'd break or damage something, so it's for everyone's good.
