Its good(new) news to me! Any info from nVidia on Vista drivers these days is like finding a nugget of gold in a septic tank.

Ooh that sounds good, it would be nice if they optimised it for the people with 7xxx cards aswell, although im happy :)

Vista is crap OS, and if you ask me it's ME of NT family, and i see it replaced soon by something else.

No problems at all

Definately not ME for NT, but quite stable already

If it's stable on my pc, than it's not the fault of the OS, but rather the drivers, software installed or the hardware

Hopefully its a simultaneous Vista and XP driver release. I'm still on 100.65 in Vista, but does 101.41 correct the stupid screen garbling in Aero when going in and out of UAC?

UAC & DEP were first on my list of annoying windows features to turn off.
theres just no need, unless your a uber n00b.

i too was hoping for drivers this week, i check this forum everyday, sad i know.

I've disabled UAC because of that and because its annoying as hell, but when you ctrl-alt-del and go to the Task Manager and when Vista first boots up and goes to the login screen, the garbling issue comes up as well. I merely mentioned the UAC issue because thats what most people associate the garbling with.

I don't know if you remember the XP launch in 2001, but do. And I assure you that everything was MUCH worse then Vista. It took most companies at least 2 to 3 year before everything runned a BIT good. Vista really isn't the same.

I've noticed the same issue when switching to Task Manager, the garbled screen is only there for a split second before Task manager opens.
I've done about 4 different installs of Vista and notice it every time, this is using 100.65 Forceware driver.

So is this driving only getting increased performance for 8 series? That would suck if it does nothing for 7's...

That's the thing though. I doubt if there's much more optimization to be squeezed out of 7xxx series cards.
