CPU cooler, I need info help

I installed a new cooler for my p4 2.8GHz. I got a silicon pasta within a cooller. I removed a stock cooler, cleaned the surface of chip, the surface of sink was already protected. So, installed everything correct. Now, what's the time between installing and running comp. How long I need to wait?

I've never waited. I fire up my AMD machines immediately after installing a new sink.
