They've improved every aspect since beta, which is usually what halfway decent companies do. I'd say your name beef is the silliest damn thing I've ever read though. That's like refusing to play a game just because it won't let you prance around in nothing but a pair of bright pink chaps. Completely arbitrary and nothing at all to do with the game or how it plays.
It's people like you with apparently zero attention span and little nitpicks you exaggerate into full-blown "zomg this game are teh suckz!" that give good games a bad rep.
Not that I think for one single moment that a reasonable opinion would change your mind about it, but I thought I'd throw that out there.
P.S. Concerning your comment about LOTR doing worse than Vanguard: if it never sold another copy off of store shelves it'd probably still end up doing better than Vanguard ever will.
:wtf: Do you have a hard time reading? Let me guess? another WoW fanboi that turned to LOTR. You guys take personal offense to games too much. I said what was wrong with the game and while I didn't like it. I also stated this was early in beta and thats probably why. Whats wrong with that? Get a life and stop being such a big baby. ;)

Look I personally don't give a rats ass if you play it or not, but when you say it sucks based on beta (and your outrageously retarded name requirement) you make it sound bad for all the wrong reasons. I guess that's all just too logical for you to grasp though and I must just be a fanboy.
I'm glad you don't like it honestly. I still have hope the LOTR population will be able to escape the 4 to 1 (or greater) retard to intelligent person ratio that WoW has. You not being there will certainly help. Have a lovely day.

Your kidding? The 4GB Beta (what I will be using) doesn't have the High Res Textures? BAH! Don't think the game will grab me with it looking like ass....

You do realize that the name thing was a "joke" right? :wtf:
I gave my legit reasons why i didn't like the game. I even stated that it was early in beta. Early on in beta I hated Vanguard. After release I liked it alot. I know how beta's work. I've been in more beta's than games I own. I realize LOTR will get better.
Please take your riddlin before you respond. ;)

Is there a way to get the High Res Client other then buying the game?
Installing the Buddy CLient now. :(
Man, for some reason the game causes my PC to thrash like crazy... it also doesn't seem to run the smoothest even though I know it should, does it have issues with Vista?

And I'm supposed to know that how? I've seen people claim more outrageous things than that and be completely serious. I apologize for responding to what you typed rather than just reading your mind.

Actually it's called Ritalin. It's cute that the way you spell it is a few consonants away from being a super villain out of Batman though. Between the two of us I rather doubt I'm the likelier candidate for ADHD medication judging by your posts. Thanks for the chuckle in any case.
@ Magus: I'm not sure why you'd be getting bad performance if you aren't using the high res textures, though I can't say I'm surprised given the issues with Vista and games so far. It runs smooth for me with the high res textures and my hardware is no longer close to cutting edge (though still no slouch).

I like the movies not the books. Never even read the books, probably never will.
The world is devided into two groups. Those who have read LOTR and those who are still going to read it.

Look Mr. Woody, I appreciate that we have differing opinions on this game (and obviously other things), but lets not piss all over this thread please.
For the record "kid", I am 28 and have two children of my own and don't appreciate being patronized by someone who can barely seem to communicate in english. I really hope you enjoy the attention this quote will seemingly give you, but from here on out I will no longer be replying to anything you post.
Most mature gamers with lives (jobs and famly, etc..) seem to enjoy LOTR online, but tastes vary. I am sorry you don't seem to fall into any of those groups, but that's ok. Ke sera and all that jazz.
Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
P.S. I've heard from some people that upper 20's content can be hit or miss so far, but hopefully the upcoming content in June will make it less of a struggle. I'm not sure myself since I've been working a lot lately and have alt-itis (meaning I have no characters quite high enough yet to feel the burn), but I'm excited to see what they'll be adding next month.
LOTR was a great read but I was more drawn to the darker writings of Michael Moor****.

How high is your memory clocked on your video card?
I found that the hard drive gets accessed like crazy with the memory up too high.

Most mature gamers who live in their parent's basement like me...http://www.guildclan.com/Forum/images/smiles/blah.gif
 Pretty funny how upset you are getting over a freaking game. :D

Back on topic, I might redownload this game and try it out to see whats improved. I do remember the graphics were pretty nice. My only complaint graphics wise was everyone pretty much looked the same.

Hmm...I don't think I'll buy it, but you never know...My buddy key is almost up and I've only been to level 6....The game just doesn't grab me...I was really hoping it would, due to the Vanguard fiasco. I was looking for something to do until Sony
A) Destroys it
or
B) Fixes it
As for LOTRO, I can't put a finger on what I don't like (and all my MMO friends are digging it)...Some of that might be the graphics (I downloaded the beta client and updated that with a buddy key, so I assume I'm on the low res textures)...It ran fine maxed, but didn't look all that great...A bit too cartoony for me (not as bad as WOW though)...Sigh...I might be going to back to EQ2...I hear they've done amazing things with that game...HURRY UP AOC!!!
**EDIT** @ MAGUS - did you try the beta? If so, could you tell me the differences between the low rez and hi rez clients? No offence to anyone else, but I just wan't Magus's opinion, as I know his tastes pretty well...

I haven't personally seen what the High Res Textures look like yet but I've been told its significantly better then the low res and I believe it. The Low Res look worse then EQ1 Luclin textures...
As for the game, I have been playing for 3 days so far and well its not that good. It tries to be very quest oriented like WoW but fails to give teh open aspect of having the ability to gring. The world seems pretty controlled. Im gonna keep playing till my Buddy Key goes but I don't think I will want to buy the game unless it really hooks me.
I think im gonna go back to Planetside and WoW till something comes along again...

Planetside is awesome, i wish it wasn't dying out. I played a couple years ago, that game was so much fun. But now i hear the biggest battles are like 15 players. I hope something similar to it comes out eventually
I was thinking about getting LOTR-O but after some opinions im not sure

Nah the community is still pretty big if you play on the prime times... battles are still huge but nowhere near as big as they use to be. Still a fun game.

Sorry for making the thread OT, lol.
Would you recommend jumping in now or probably just hold off until something, if anything, comes out in the future? (planetside that is)
thanks

If you had an account I would recommend hooking up again, its a fun game to play from time to time since it doesn't require constant play to get good at it.
If you do try it out again, Get on Emerald on Vanu side.

my buddy key expired yesterday and I was ready to give up on this game. But I got an invite to a kinship and playing is more fun now. The solo questing was getting to be a pain. One of the main reasons why I hate any single player rpg like plague!!!!

thats why most of the quest require a group to complete in lotro ;)
at least later on lvl 15+
in the start its mostly q you can finish on your own to get a feel for the game but later on you must have a group 70% of the time and everyone else is searching for a group so it is easy to get one. And even better if you are in a kinship.
Its ALOT more fun than WoW in WoW you are on your own 90% of the time
the fun in lotro doesnt start until lvl 15 so if you have played only 10 lvls or so then you havent actually tried the game.
I love it and its the best mmorpg out now and I have tested almost all of them. WoW was the best until Lotro came out, now it bitchslaps WoW all over.

holy crap! I could not get in th egame for a week because of moving and hooking up a new inet connection. I log back in and the kinship I belonged to had kicked me out. That sucks. Whats the avg playtime on these mmos anyway, I guess 30 mins a day wont quite cut it right???
I don't think you can get much done in 30 mins for most MMO's. Maybe a quest here and there.
