What DX10 games did they use to benchmark?

Duke Nukem Forever, dumbass. :mohawk:

Won't happen, Remember the old Netburst days.....come on I know you do. Intel chips just couldn't compete...for nigh on 3 years. All of a sudden Intel hits one and I mean 1 outta the park and some people immediately write Amd off. It's laughable. All things aside. I have no brand loyalty, so therefore, if I was to upgrade from my Opti right now; it would be an Intel Quad core that powered my system. Currently it's the best bang for the buck (quad FX is garbage). The thing we need to keep in mind in that no-one has seen a NATIVE QUAD CORE design in action, and we already know that AMD's on die memory controller has historically stomped the living piss outta Intel's NB based solution.

Instead of making outrages flaming remarks like "baloney" marchitecture. Why not sit back and wait for some acutal info, instead of preaching Intel like a fanboi.

JC..... I'm just playing....

;)

I have three AMD based systems here in our home. Not to mention a few ATI video cards (9000 AIW /9700 PRO,etc...)

I do hope AMD somehow survives, but in the long term,I do not see that happening. Its not a matter of being a fanboi, its common sense.I have been a member here for longer then my join date lets on... Maybe if you knew of my past posts and stances, you would not be so quick to label me of all people a fanboi.Thats what the big grin was trying to get across,I was merely
jesting.... ;)

Are you guys that blind ? I was rocking an AMD system for years before this.I went Intel recently because currently they offer the best bang for MY buck... Come the Fall, that may change, and if it does,I will likely switch sides yet again.

I agree, Barcelona should "theoretically" wipe the floor on a work per clock cycle basis, it has a more advanced memory controller than conroe or kentsfield. Intel is currently operating on more of a statistical basis than with a true prediction matrix. Amd has made some excellent progress in this field, as well as variable core/memory controller voltages.

Unfortunately it's all just speculation right now.

Please keep us up to date, when you get some good info or the NDA ceases to be in effect.

Thanks,

JC

I'm not the one under the NDA :afro:

If I was, I would never have started this thread. I am not that stupid.

Well, then- it appears you happen to know quite a bit about what AMD has up their sleeve, and I get the impression that there are things you aren't sharing. Am I wrong to assume such?

Some users over at Rage3D who have inside info claim the R600 is almost 70% faster than the 8800GTX in DX10 games,

:rofl

I tried contacting everyone I know that works in the IT field(Including my brother-in-law who works for AMD), I can usually get some sort of bits and pieces or hints about upcoming stuff but this one is a no-can-do :(

Not even on the simplest questions would my nerdy bro-in-law comment about Barcelona. Am I going to want to replace my 6000 as soon as this comes out?? "Can't comment" - It'll be good though right? "Can't comment"...no Christmas card for him this year!

I asked about the INQ statement about the R600 prices and he was willing to say that he has heard from others that if the yields on the R600 are as expected it will be considerably cheaper than the current 8800GTX price, he doesn't work on the ATI side though so it could just be others repeating INQ fud but then again, he heard it quite awhile ago.

My first ever ATI card might end up being 2 of them if they really start as low as some of the rumors are saying they might.
