I installed at christmas time RedHat 8, and used the precompiled drivers i found on nVidia's homepage.

It worked wonderfull, just like it did in RH7.3.. maybe bether..
The problem came when I tried to run twinview with CRT and TV.

When I use allmost the same configuration (minor changes) as I used in RH7.3 (where twinview worked just fine).

When I try to start X with twinview enabled, it just hangs and fills the screen with garbage.

I've tried to change everything i could think of mathered in this case..

I should maybe also say that i've expirienced a unstabilty when I only use TV as display to.

Sys-info:

Prossesor: PIII(Katmaii)@500Mhz
Systemboard: Some IBM board, i dont remeber now (i do not have internet conection to this machine at the moment.)
RAM: 192MB
System: RH8, with all updates (except kernel-patch) that wass avilable at 1.jan)
Graphics card: Asus with nVidia MX440 chipset. 64 MB ram, and support for TwinView.
something more that i should mention?

Someone that has exirienced somthing like this?

It might be your TV encoder, maybe...

That is one way to explain it, at least -- although other explanations are possible.

Have you tried 3123 on either distro?

No, I am downloading it now...

But i do not think it is anything wrong with the hardware, because it works i Win2k, and it did work untill i installed RH8

So, a downgrade of the driver might help..

I tried to install the 3 lastest driver relases to my computer.
2 the newest runs great with just a crt,

the oldest of the 3 didn't compile - gcc-version conflict or somthing like that..

And they all result in the same crash...
My screen fills with garbage, numlock, capslock and scrolllock flashes. (like i have descibed before)

I hope someone can give me som tips, on how to solve this problem...

I downloaded the new release, and it works nearly perfect.

But...
It sometimes only come black/white when i use SVideo cable... but when I use composite it works right..

Any ideas?

oops... looks similar to what happens to me, and my video card only has SVIDEO output.

The worse part is that I can't compile any driver, but the latest, because older drivers don't compile...
