View Full Version : GeForce 5500 256MB DDR PCI slot???
Hi guys this is gonna seem like the most ultimate of a simple question but i just need to be sure of somthing. The other day i brought a GeForce 5500 256MB DDR PCI graphics card off eBay without actualy first looking at my pci slot! (how dumb am i?) so from looking at my pci slot and the card doesnt look like its going to fit (card hasnt arrived yet) so can anybody tell me if im right or wrong? Thanks! (SEE ATTACHED PICS!)

It should fit. What motherboard do you have? The slot you've circled looks like a standard 32bit 5V PCI slot. I've looked at pictures of the "GeForce 5500 256MB DDR PCI " and it looks about right. It has two notches to allow it to fit in either a 5V PCI or 3.3V PCI slot. What is the exact model and manufacturer of your FX5500?
heya thanks for the reply heres a link to the item itself on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130092777571&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2F search.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D130092777571%2 6fvi%3D1
If that link doesnt work the item number is 130092777571
Should have the info you need.
Thanks! :D

I think you'll be fine.
In fact just found this pic and it sez the card is universal so looks like it will work thanks for all your help!
Sorry this is an old thread of mine so i thought i would just tie up all loose ends. The card worked perfectly after disabling integrated graphics yay :)

Is that PCI-e?
No it was just PCI because my pc only had a x1 PCI-e slot which sucks :P
