Can you tell us what it did for you?

nekrosoft13 nailed it. More specifically for me it causes stuttering and screen freezes. Worth a try if you are having similar issues;)

Very stable for me also. Played several hours of WoW with no crashes. Only problem was that FSX closed to desktop once, but only once. Played for several hours after it, without a single problem. Temps are fine too.

I installed 101.70 and got nothing any better, except the fact the gpu fans were disabled. Still crashing and otherwise still a useless system. Windows Update alerted me of a new driver update for my graphics card. I allowed the upgrade figuring, what the heck.. can't hurt anything. Upon rebooting I went straight to my nTune and found my fans are controllable again and stalker actually works, whereas before it'd crash as soon as the Menu popped up. It's been running for 2 days now flawlessly. 3DMark06 ran a complete test without crashing, as well. I can't say the windows update was THE fix, but I can guarantee you it made things playable that before the update I couldn't even get to start. Just when I was about to reinstall XP, too. My patience had run out bein that 101.70 was crap as well. Just my two cents worth. I'll post back if by some odd chance things start crashing again.

Strange, the 101.70's aren't available from Windows Update anymore...

Well, I'm just going by what my normal, day to day activites are. All i know is the things that didn't work right for my system, so far *crosses fingers*, seem to be repaired to my satisfaction.

Well there easily the best G80 drivers yet but considering how bad they've been that's not saying much..

They need to get ntunes working properly for all users and performance still needs tweaking, vista is still 500 pts lower then XP here in 3dmark06 and games don't feel as smooth..

It's strange that they ever were in the first place considering they're not WHQLed.

They haven’t technically given us any drivers this month yet for vista, this is a leak and definitely not on Microsoft update for me.

It's strange they seem to be available for some people and not for others. For me a day ago there was an update available but it turned out to be the 100.65 drivers. I haven't gotten 101.70 as an update on the windows update service.

I'm back... the nvlddmkm crashes started late last night. Scratch every good thing I said about nvidia in any prior post. Bah.. Nvidia: The way it's meant to be played [tm]. Played with intermittent black screens, crashes and bsods? NOW i get it. All I can hope for is a true, permanent fix before World In Conflict comes out. I bought a 2nd Raptor X for an XP Pro install. I'm going back to XP until nvidia or Vista or whoever the heck it is, gets their @#$@% together.

have serious problem with media center when watching HDTV, the picture is sluggish and isnt watchable at all. I know this isnt my tv tuners problem because the drver from windows update and it works well, also, watchhdtv works fine with 101.70.

It's like we're going around in circles!!!

Each new release fixes some things and then breaks some other things.

I'm using 101.41 because it performs better than 100.65. Problem is I get stuttering while watching DVD's which I didn't have with the old drivers. Seriously, how many years have people been watching DVD's? WTF?!

101.41 performs better but then has more TDR crashes than 100.65. *sigh*

Now it's just about picking which defective driver you can live with.

On the Guru 3D forums for Vista drivers, not hacked drivers, there is a Windows Update 101.70 thread, same thing as here. Some people not seeing it, some are.

Some guy posted a link to a self-extracting .exe with the 101.70 WHQL, including the installer, no modded .inf or anything. It's only x86 though, no 64-bit.

Then people were complaining that this WHQL driver + the April DirectX update breaks DX10 demos (Cascade). DX9 was OK.

I downloaded the file and installed it. My 101.70 is now WHQL. The files are dated 3/22/07. I have not downloaded any DX updates, my last one was the February one. Be wary if you have downloaded the latest DX update for April.

This could be why they aren't on the Nvidia site, my bet is that they will correct the set for the April DX update (if there is indeed a problem) and release them on their site, most likely as a 101.7X set or higher. Just a guess.

Good luck

Anyone else getting windows explorer reboots during gaming. I started getting this while playing COD2. Randomly I will get a message that Windows explorer has stoped responding and is restarting....

Same basic experience here...i am now getting random mvlddmkm crashes for no reason where I rarely had them before. I'm not only back to 101.41 but have to keep SLI disabled now as well. Damnit nVidia, are you able to figure out your own hardware?!

I dunno if anyone noticed this yet. Not only does Oblivion now have AA and HDR - but I fired up Rainbow Six Las Vegas and there is in fact AA working when set in CP even with HDR on. No more renaming, tricking, etc. I confirmed that it's on by disabling it. Performance with AA and HDR in Vegas is about 60 FPS at 1280x960 for me. Without AA about 90 FPS, so there is still quite a hit - but dammit at least it works!!!

If Nvidia dont include DV by the time R600 is released, I'll be switching to R600 so I can use AVIVO colour settings (basically the same thing apparently).

(Yes, I am that desperate for its support).

EDIT: haha I just realised AVIVO is only for video, I was under the impression it is for everything. Scrap that idea.

Just hurry up and fix up the slider control on Vista for 8800 and you'll have one more-happy customer.

I just cant go back to having bland screen, my Dell 2407 looks baaad without DV.
