I wanna watch TV on my computer. It doesn't have to be anything special, just as long as I can watch it. I'd be using basic cable connection from the wall. Is this all I need?

It's about all I can afford right now or I would go with a more expensive one. Anyways, I'm thinking about driving up to CompUSA and getting this.

Thanks,
SLippe

What about a usb TV/HD tuners, like

granted it's 85 vs 45 but you may be able to get HD programming over the air and it's USB so you can use it on more then one PC.

Okay, I got it installed and running. Not the best picture in the world, but it'll work.

Is there any other software I could use besides the software it came with? Just wondering if another application might give a better picture.

Thanks. I installed it and it has good image quality, but I had sound issues. Had to uninstall it. Ah well. Thanks anyways, DD.

Media Center, either 2005 or Vista, offer incredible functionality. I know that all you want is basic TV viewing, but I think you would be very impressed. I couldn't live without Media Center now after using it for a few years. My GF loves her box as well.

Very carefully. ;)

Well IF you ever upgrade to Vista Home Premium or Ultimate you should definetly give it a go. Hell, if you can find a cheap Media Center 05 license and don't need domain support I'd consider picking it up, even if it is a lateral move for an OS.

I wasn't sure what OS you were running...check out this list for tons of options.

Not sure if it will help with picture quality, but there is Beyond TV (http://www.snapstream.com/products/beyondtv/features.asp)
