Wow... Just wow....

No offense or anything, but my 8800 GTX absolutely OWNS your 7800 GTX. The bugs are minimal on XP at best. In fact, I find that the fog issue on CS:Source helps immensely when trying to see far away people. It's like seeing a pure gray person agaisn't a black curtain.

So yea... I'll give you props if you can run Supreme Commander @ 2048x1536, details maxed, 8xaa, 16xaf and get between 30-60 fps constantly. Otherwise, this post has no meaning other than to flame 8800 owners.

Couldent agree with you more Madpistol, ive had both the 7900GTX 512MB & the 7950GT 512MB and my 8800GTS 640MB will laugh at them all day! ..... i have had zero problems with my 8800 and XP Pro & SP2 ..... i get almost double the 3DMark06 score with this 8800 compared to my older 7950GT 512MB ....

I can play BF2 @ 1920x1440 res with AA x8 and every other setting maxed out with 65-85+fps on a full 64 player titan server!..... i could actually play @ 2048x1536 res with decent fps just the player names get alittle to small to read!

No way on this earth could i go back to a 7 series card!

QFT!!!

BF2142 @ 1600x1200, 8xaa, 16xaf, all settings maxed, 64man titan server, and my computer doesn't even flinch. In fact, I can throw it up to 16xAA w/ supersampling, and I still get 60fps or more constantly. The only times it slows down is during heavy smoke or on the titan when people are lobbing 10 grenades at a time... and even during that, it's still totally responsive and playable.

Also, check the 3Dmark scores posted for my rig... My score for 3dmark06 is over 12000 with a single 8800 GTX!!! Honestly, you couldn't even come close to touching that with TWO 7800 GTX's, much less 1.

My 8800 GTX SLI setup is almost 5x as powerful as your 7800 GTX. Have fun.

No offense to all the poor souls having issues with there 8800's, but it makes me feel good about my 7800GTX in which plays all my games maxed. I will get onboard with the 8800 when they iron the bugs out. Yes I have replaced my card once but for almost being 2 years old not too shabby. EVGA is the way to go because they have an awesome lifetime warranty and great cards. I wish the 8800 guys nothing but the best with getting a solid card in the immediate future.:D

I'm glad for you. I'm happy you convinced yourself.;)

The way you said it sounded like you were putting us and our purchases down.

Hell no. The cards kick butt and I will get one eventually. Just happy with mine for now till I get the 8800.

I find nothing wrong with your original post, and I'm a proud own of 2 eVGA 8800GTSs (640mb models).

Anyhow, props on the new card. The 7800GTX, while definitely dated, is still a great card.

Enjoy it. :D

Lol, I got flamed here for saying I was happy I still had my 7800GTs. :D

All I meant was I was sorry the 8800 owners were having trouble. Now I are one. :p

7800 was/is a great piece of hardware though...

I had two 7800GT running in SLI and they are good cards ,and still plays most games at very playble rate ,but my 8800GTS in SLI is just so much better ,and I have not notice any bugs with XP or at least with the games I play.
