I'm looking at getting the Antec Trupower Trio 550 for an 8800GTS 640MB system. I know you are supposed to have 26A on the 12V rail but I can't read the specs properly:

http://www.antec.com/specs/TP3_550_spe.html

I've heard that you shoudl stay away from the dual rails as well. Not sure if this one is a dual rail. Suggestions for other PSU's are welcome.

By the way, this system that I'm building will be used in Europe. Can that cause a problem with this PSU?

Thanks in advance.

It's 26A if there's only one 12V rail. This has 3 rails with 18A each. Should be plenty.

The PSU can operate both on 115 and 230V, it says so in the specs at least.

bumping this thread because the site I am buying from doesn't seem to have this psu. I'm buying from tigerdirect. can someone recommend me a PSU from here:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=106

something preferably not TOO expensive.

Get the OCZ 700W. It's the best one on that page for the cost.

It should be plenty since it puts out a total of 42 amps on the combine amps on the three 12v rails.I have always had bad luck with antec ,with them going out quick or not haveing enough power and I got game freezes and reboots.I would get the best one you can afford since the power supply is one of the most important componets of a computer.I had the best luck with OCZ and SilverStone I ran my Silverstone Zues 560watt with the system I have in my signature and had no problems.

unfortunately the antec one I was looking at isn't available at the retailer I'm buying anymore.

the ocz one you recommended looks good, but 135 is a bit pricy, I know you shouldn't cheap out on the PSU, but is there anything that's cheaper yet good enough for an 8800gts build?

is a 500 watt antec good enough? They're only 60-80 bucks and stable.

I wish that you guys would list your location under your username. It makes it kinda hard for many of us to suggest hardware for you, because some of these online retailers won't ship overseas or are a lot more expensive if they do.

Anyway, newegg has a lot of PSUs in the 100-120$ range that are around 500-650W. Might want to check there if you're in the States.
