I have a fresh install of Red Hat 8.0 on two systems. One has a Quadro4 750 and the other a GForce2MX. Based upon results from running NVChooser.sh, I installed
NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rh80up.i686.rpm
NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm
on both systems. I made the appropriate change to XF86Config file using the nvidia driver instead of the nv driver and everything works quite well except for one annoying problem.
After I log on, when I drag a window around on the screen, it does not track the mouse movement in a smooth motion. It is real jerky on the screen. If at some point I run an application called ABAQUS (a finite element post processor) the problem goes away and everything tracks real smooth. The problem stays away until I log out and back in. It's as if the ABAQUS program initializes something.
How can I get the smooth tracking without running ABAQUS.
Thanks
Jeff
