View Full Version : Any way to overclock 101.70 8800 in vista?
The previous driver overclocked using atitool or gaiward expertool, but not this one. Has anyone found another way?
How about the two new drivers 158? or 165?

Flashing the BIOS should work in x86 too if the tools don't. Or you could just wait for the tools to be updated for the new drivers.

You can overclock any 8800 series card in Vista 32 or Vista 64 using Expertool .49 and this driver even. Google for it, can't remember where I found it but it works great.
Get the latest Expertool from http://www.gainward.com/en/support/XPRT_50.zip they are up to version 5, released like 2 weeks ago.
Don't know about the 8 series but it works great on my 7900GT in Vista64.

it works great to overclock it, but fan control is still broken, in all tools I tested, any way to set the fan to 100% by modifying the graphics bios? if so how? or any other tool the can control the fan correctly with these drivers?

Don't work here, "not correct display card" with XFX 8800 GTX.

Same. I use ATITool instead.

I'd use that but I get "The kernel mode driver does not seem to be running" so I have no working OC utility. :(

Did you run it as an administrator?? atitool 0.27 beta gives me that error you get when I don't right click and run as admin but if I run as admin it works fine but thats with 101.41 not sure if it works with 101.70

Doesnt make any difference, nor should it as UAC is disabled.

I'll wait until stuff settles down with vista for a bit.
8800gtx stock speed is good enough for me for now.
Artifacts bsod's and stop errors are prevalent for low ocin now.
unless you got liquid nitrogen and nos.

Works well with me and my Vista X64
At least with 101.70, the latest Atitool and Expertool will NOT overclock, or at least the settings don't stick, to overlock the GTX8800 in Vista 32.
Anyone know if either of the new drivers do?
Edit: No they don't work either. :(
