One of these days I will find the time to purchase a handgun to take to the range, and I am thinking a Sig P226 or Glock 17.

Unfortunately, I am left handed, and as far as I can remember from when I used to shoot, the Glock 17 does not have an ambidextrous clip release, which makes it a pain to release the clip with any amount of speed.

I know what you mean, I am left handed too, my solution... learn to shoot with your right hand. Yep, thats what I did. I am now ambidextrous. Here in the states we have strict gun laws, but when our guns became illegal we had to get rid of them. Our collection of AK-47, M1, M4 and other assault rifles and such really sold for good $$. We kept some other guns however, we didn't want to be left unarmed. Me myself, I am about to buy a Magnum Research .50 Cal Desert Eagel AE, thats next check tho. For a little over $1,500 you can have yourself a very nice gold plated(I am looking at chrome) desert eagle. Their custom shop also has a number of accesories and add-ons. I don't think I can carry it around, bah, whats a gun for if you can't use it. I still take my 7.62mm rifle out to the range, and since it is all desert here, as long as you are at least a mile out of the city, you can shoot there. Great fun, good times. I'd love to get my hands on a MP5. I guess I'll have to wait till the army gives me one or something...:mad: :D
