This is a little late, but I decide to program ingame winamp controls for half life based mods (yes, the original half life). I don't know how many of you still play good 'ol counter-strike 1.6, but if you do, give this a shot.

Now you may say "hmm, but winamp can be controlled via global hotkeys" well, don't really have an answer to that except that more features will be added in time, I need to fix up my playlist so its not buggy/ugly (see an old sample picture: http://game-deception.org/hack/winampplaylistbroken.jpg ).

Anyway, here is what it looks like in-game. Everything can be closed if you don't enjoy the windows (I'd expect most of you to close the console right away).

http://www.game-deception.org/absoui/ is where to get it/more info.

Edit: I forgot to add that I'll be adding IRC support soon. Along with AIM/MSN support in the distant future.

Looks like a great idea but VAC is really sensitive with this kind of thing. I remember there being one in 1.5 and early 1.6. VAC kept picking it up as a cheat and banning people for using it.

I'd love to use it but I really don't fancy risking my account for it... Valve just won't give it back if things go wrong.

You could always play on VACless servers of course... but we all know that's not at all fun :(

As far as vac is concerned, there has never been a detection with the method I use (been using it for 4 years now). It hardly hooks anything in half life, vac has also never attempted to scan the opengl driver directly.
